Word for Word is a theater group that creates plays from prose. For their production of Upton Sinclair’s “Oil!” we produced a lobby display that highlighted some of major events in the history of America’s oil industry, providing context for the theater-goers.
The Oil Industry Timeline overlays key events, decade by decade, against a graph of US and global production and consumption figures. The display measures 6' by 3' and is printed on vinyl for durability.

The timeline received a 2004 American Graphic Design Award for “excellence in communication and graphic design”.
